Your Mental Health Deserves More Than a Prescription
At Paxina Health, general psychiatry isn’t about rushing to medicate or checking boxes. Everything we do begins with understanding.
That means we look at your symptoms, your history, and the context of your life before recommending anything—whether that’s therapy, medication, or interventional care. Every relationship starts with a thoughtful mental health evaluation designed to understand what you’re experiencing and what you need.
Our psychiatry services are provided by experienced nurse practitioners and physician assistants who work closely with Dr. Young and Dr. Watts to ensure high-quality, collaborative care.
Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been managing a condition for years, our focus is the same: collaborative, attentive, and grounded in expertise across adult psychiatry.
What We Do
General psychiatry at Paxina includes diagnostic assessments, medication management, and ongoing clinical support. But our work also goes deeper. We integrate interventional treatments when they may help, coordinate with therapists, and adjust care as your needs change.
Here’s what we offer:

Diagnostic Assessments
We start with a detailed psychiatric evaluation so we can genuinely understand what you’re experiencing. This helps clarify your diagnosis and guides us in creating a plan that reflects your symptoms, history, and goals.

Medication Management
If medication is part of your care plan, we’ll talk through your options, how they work, possible benefits, and what to expect. Your treatment is always reviewed and adjusted based on your experience. At Paxina Health, nothing is automatic or formulaic.

Ongoing Psychiatric Support
Mental health isn’t static. We check in regularly, reassess how you’re feeling, and make thoughtful adjustments so your care stays aligned with your needs.

Interventional Treatment Planning
If treatments like TMS or SPRAVATO® may help, we’ll walk you through how they work and when they’re appropriate. These treatments are explored carefully and always within the context of your broader plan.

Therapy Coordination & Referrals
Medication and interventional care are only part of the picture. We collaborate with your therapist whenever possible, or we help connect you with a trusted provider if you’re not yet in therapy.
What We Treat
At Paxina Health, we focus on conditions that are often complex, persistent, and misunderstood. Many of our patients have already tried other treatments without success and come to us looking for more direction.
Treatment-Resistant Depression
Have you tried one or more antidepressants without making meaningful progress? We offer treatments designed for depression that hasn’t responded to conventional care, including TMS and SPRAVATO®.
Major Depression With Anxious Distress
Depression and anxiety often occur together, making each harder to treat. We build care plans that address both sides so you’re not managing them separately or feeling pulled in two directions.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors can take over your life. We help you break the cycle and regain a sense of control with strategies that go beyond surface-level symptom management.
Late-Life Depression
Depression in older adults can look different. It may show up as fatigue, irritability, sleep changes, or cognitive shifts. We provide evaluations and treatment plans that are sensitive to age-related changes and coexisting medical conditions.
Adolescent Depression
When depression affects a young person’s mood, motivation, or school performance, early support is essential. We offer compassionate, developmentally informed care for adolescents and their families.
How We Approach Care

Collaborative, Not Prescriptive
You’ll never be handed a plan without context. We explain your options clearly, make decisions together, and adjust care based on your real-world experience

Rooted in Psychiatric Expertise
Your care is guided by board-certified psychiatrists with deep experience in depression, OCD, and interventional treatments. Whether you’re seeking adolescent or adult psychiatry, you’ll feel the difference in how we listen, question, and respond.

Flexible By Design
Your needs can change. Your treatment should too. We reassess regularly and adjust your plan when your symptoms, goals, or life circumstances shift.

Whole-Person Oriented
We look beyond symptoms to understand the full picture. That includes how you’re functioning day to day, what’s affecting your stress level, how your relationships and environment factor in, and where you feel stuck. Our goal is to support your healing in practical, thoughtful ways.
Is General Psychiatry Right For You?
Not sure where to start—or whether psychiatry is even the right fit? If any of the following sound familiar, we’re here to help.
Daily Life Feels Harder Than It Should
Whether it’s low mood, anxiety, irritability, or trouble sleeping, you’re noticing patterns that make it harder to function, connect, or feel like yourself.
Your Current Treatment Plan Isn’t Working
Maybe therapy helped, or medication did for a while, but something still feels off. We’ll help you explore what’s working, what isn’t, and why.
You Want Personalized Care
At Paxina Health, treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all. We’ll listen closely, explain your options, and build a plan that fits your life, not just your symptoms.
You’re Open, But Uncertain
Even if you’re not sure what comes next, starting the conversation is a powerful first step. We’ll guide you from there.
